robust processes as well Business GoalsLet s make something clear What does business value the most in a software system Is it performance The modern technologies Or maybe documentation Actually business cares about two things The income the software gets The maintainability The first one is pretty obvious The essential goal of any company is to earn money And the software should help to reach it either directly or indirectly For example the system that allows customers to book a hotel room online and pay in advance earns money directly While the software that can automatically build the artifact and deploy it on the production stage earns money indirectly Because it reduces the time that engineers spend on routine tasks and helps them to concentrate on those ones that can bring more benefit The second point may seem not so important in comparison to the first one but not paying attention to it may lead to even worse consequences Imagine that you are a CEO of a company that provides BC service Let s assume it is an online book shop You hired software engineers that keep the development going They implement new features fix bugs and so on But the time goes by as the employees change The new developers coming and the old ones leave Everything is going more or else smoothly Until the one day “Hey Jane We need to provide our customers with an option to purchase e books as weel the system analyst claimed “Actually we have some problems with implementing the new features John you know the codebase has become so messy that it s almost impossible to continue to statement but only under particular circumstances If your project has no tests and it s five years old it s impossible or maybe too expensive to increase the coverage up to instantly But you don t have to Start with a lower bar and then continuously increment it It can be at the beginning that turns to in a quarter Another example can be applied to code quality itself Most static analyzers are configurable If you tried to set Checkstyle Google configuration to the mature project you would probably get hundreds or even thousands of errors You can start with just one rule Ar first glance it seems not so important But after the moment when the configuration reaches the repository you can be sure that no one else can violate this rule in the future We review pull requests according to the style guide Static analyzers are redundant for usDo you remember an example with an unused import What if you have twenty similar rules How can you be sure that reviewers spot all these small details Anyway you have already declared your style guide in Wiki Markdown HTML Why don t you transfer it in the format that is understood by one static analyzer I know that not everything can be automated can be installed either as a plugin in your IDE or as an addition to existing CI CD instruments including SonarQube Although the variety of supported language is not wide the product analyzes the code 海外TECH	Engadget	Halo Infinite's accessibility features make driving and menu navigation easier	https://www.engadget.com/halo-infinite-accessibility-options-170337824.html?src=rss	Halo Infinite x s accessibility features make driving and menu navigation easierWhen Industries set out to create Halo Infinite it says one of its goals was to make the game more accessible to as many people as possible As part of Microsoft s recent Xbox Accessibility Showcase the studio detailed the lengths it went to make that vision a reality The included accessibility options that will come with Halo Infinite don t look as comprehensive as they were in The Last of Us Part II but they come close For example in addition to the usual UI and subtitle options you find in many other games Halo Infinite will include a feature called Linear Navigation You can enable it to move through the user interface without the need to see how controls are positioned on the screen Another new enhancement called Movement Assisted Steering allows you to use additional controls to steer vehicles if the traditional look to steer mechanic isn t doing it for you Outside of those there are options that allow you to tweak the colors of friendlies and enemies beyond the usual red and blue Another setting lets players enable menu narration and adjust the reading speed of the feature It s also possible to enable text to speech and speech to text tools to make party chat more accessible The included options probably won t cover every accessibility need but they should help make Halo Infinite playable for a much broader group of people when the game comes out on December th nbsp During the same showcase Microsoft announced it adding introducing accessibility tags to the Microsoft Store on Xbox At launch there will be of these tags with the company planning to add more with time Each one will denote a specific accessibility feature nbsp Some of the currently available tags include “Narrated Game Menus “Input Remapping and Single Stick Gameplay Each one comes with specific implementation requirements For instance in the case of a developer that wants to point to the subtitle support in their title they ll need to allow players to resize them by up to percent Members of the Xbox Accessibility Insiders League XAIL will see the tags appear in the Microsoft Store starting today In the coming months the feature will roll out to Xbox com the Xbox app on PC and Xbox Game Pass apps	2021-10-01 17:03:37
