How to change key automatically in Azure Key Vault IntroductionKey vault has an automated key rotation feature that will automatically generate a new key version Rotation policy can be used to set rotation for individual keys It is recommended that the encryption keys be changed at least every two years This feature allows end to end zero touch rotation for the customer managed key in the azure key vault There is an additional cost for each scheduled key rotation Key management permission is required for the Key Vault key rotation feature You can assign a role to manage rotation policy and on demand rotation Key rotation policyUsers can use the key rotation policy to set rotation and event grid notifications Expiry timeIt s used to set an expired date on a new key It doesn t affect the current key Enabled disabledThere is a flag that can be enabled or disabled for the key Rotation typesYou can automatically renew at a given time after creation You can automatically renew at a given time before expiry Rotation timeThe minimum value is seven days from creation and seven days from the end of the rotation Notification timeThe key is near the end of the event interval Key rotation policy should be configured during key creation The rotation policy should be configured on the existing keys Key rotation can be invoked manually To invoke rotation click Rotate Now The event grid key has a configuration of expiry notification Notification can be configured with days months and years before the event Key rotation can be configured with the ARM template Key rotation policy can be configured using templates Thanks for reading my article till end I hope you learned something special today If you enjoyed this article then please share to your friends and if you have suggestions or thoughts to share with me then please write in the comment box |

Introducing Elm Editor a web based IDE for Elm programsAbout one year ago I started working on Elm Editor a web app for developing Elm programs As an integrated development environment it assists us in reading writing and testing Elm programs and in collaborating with other developers This project minimizes the friction for newcomers to get started with programming Since the front end is entirely web based it requires practically no setup Any modern web browser is enough to use it To see Elm Editor in action check out the public instance at This video is a short demonstration of a code editing cycle in Elm Editor Features in Some of the features come for free with the Monaco Editor Others required more effort and glue code in javascript to communicate with and synchronize with the code editor Learned quite a bit about javascript in this project Viewing and editing all Elm module files as well as other text files in your project Checking programs for problems such as Elm compiler errors Saving and sharing the current state of a project including all files Importing complete projects from public git repositories For front end web apps viewing and testing the app in an iframe Visual markers in the code to quickly find locations of problems Showing error descriptions on mouse hover Completion suggestions to discover available declarations and explore useful codes Showing documentation and details when hovering the mouse cursor over a part of the code Command palette to discover new functionality and keyboard shortcuts Text search with options for case sensitivity regular expressions and replacing matches Besides these features also found in traditional big desktop based IDEs there are more innovative features like the differential project state model Project Organization and ImplementationElm Editor is an open source project organized for easy customization and deployment of custom instances The source code lives at Most of the action happens in the front end The primary role of the back end is integrating tools like the Elm and elm format executable files and interfacing with Git hosting services like GitHub and GitLab The front end is mainly written in Elm and integrates the Monaco Editor from the VS Code project The Elm app implements ports with the javascript based Monaco Editor The Elm side also implements language services that power editor features that require understanding the syntax and semantics of the Elm programming language OutlookDevelopment continues to make reading and developing Elm programs even more efficient Integration of a test runner seems one of the more obvious things to add soon Adding a REPL seems another great addition A REPL is a more interactive alternative for testing and exploring the behavior of the code in the current workspace Then there are more minor improvements like a preview for Markdown files and viewers for images and audio files for those working on video games There are tons of ideas for new features I could probably go on for hours As with my other open source projects prioritization depends in large part on your feedback Besides the Elm discourse a good place for discussion and feedback is on GitHub at or in the issues section |

Judge rules Cydia x s antitrust case against Apple can move forwardCydia s antitrust case against Apple can move forward according to Reuters On Thursday Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers the same judge that oversaw the case between Apple and Epic Games ruled Cydia s creator Jay “Saurik Freeman could present his claim against the company after rejecting a bid by Apple to dismiss the complaint Freeman first sued Apple at the end of alleging the company had an “illegal monopoly over iOS app distribution Judge Gonzalez Rogers dismissed Cydia s initial complaint against Apple ruling the suit fell outside the statute of limitations But she also granted Freeman leave to amend his case which is what he did In its latest complaint Cydia argues that iOS updates Apple released between and constituted “overt acts that harmed distributors like itself That s a claim Judge Gonzalez Rogers found credible enough to explore quot To the extent plaintiff s claims rely on Apple s technological updates to exclude Cydia from being able to operate altogether those claims are timely quot the judge said in her ruling Cydia is seeking damages from Apple the company stopped processing purchases in and hopes to force the tech giant to open iOS to third party payments and app distributors Opening the App Store to more competition is something US lawmakers are considering as well with the Senate Judiciary Committee recently advancing the Open App Markets Act If enacted the law would force Apple to allow sideloading on iOS and prevent the company from locking developers into its payments system |
