海外TECH	DEV Community	Counting all words across markdown files ~ CLI	https://dev.to/dailydevtips1/counting-all-words-across-markdown-files-cli-919	Counting all words across markdown files CLIQuite a while ago my good friend and colleague inhuofficial asked me if I knew how many words I d written And although I m at articles I had no idea how many words this was So I decided to find a solution to give him an answer and shock myself and maybe even you This solution will use the command line interface CLI which is the simplest way to do it In a future article I might dive into some other solutions CLI count words in markdown filesThe first step is to count words in some text luckily for us Unix already has this command called wc word count To use it we can simply use a command like this wc w lt lt lt Some random words This should output as there are three words in this string Now that we know how to count words we need a way to extract the actual content from our markdown file There are several Unix markdown parsers If you have a favorite one you can use that Else I suggest using pandoc If you don t have it yet you can install it with Homebrew brew install pandocWe can then use it to read a markdown file like this pandoc strip comments t plain your markdown mdThe commands include the strip comments command to strip all HTML comments and comments from the markdown And the t as the parameter to define what to convert it to in our case plain text When I run this on one of my markdown files I get the following result So how do we now count these words quickly We can combine the pandoc and the wc command into one line pandoc strip comments t plain your markdown md wc wAnd it will result in the number of words in that document Pretty awesome We now know how to count all words in a single markdown file Retrieving all words across all markdown filesNow that we know how it s done the real question is how many words did you write in total And to answer that we must count all words across all markdown files And no we don t want to run this command for each file and add each output So to make this work we can leverage the find command to find all files that end in the md extension find iname md This will result in a list of all your markdown files in the folder structure you are in We can combine the above two commands with this find command to count all words Be aware it might take a while depending on how many files you have find iname md xargs pandoc strip comments t plain wc wWow I already wrote words That is just crazy stuff If you are anything like me the question around how many books would that be popped up And a quick google shows The average word count for adult fiction is between to words Does this mean I wrote around four novels already My mind is blown Thank you for reading and let s connect Thank you for reading my blog Feel free to subscribe to my email newsletter and connect on Facebook or Twitter	2022-06-13 06:24:57
海外TECH	DEV Community	Building Blog with Nuxt 2 and Contentrain Headless CMS	https://dev.to/jacobandrewsky/building-blog-with-nuxt-2-and-contentrain-headless-cms-33dn	Building Blog with Nuxt and Contentrain Headless CMSWhen I first heard about Contentrain I was a bit sceptical At this time I already had experiences with several Content Management Systems like Storyblok Contentful and Contentstack so wasn t particularly sure how Contentrain will differ from them Basically what will make me wanna use Contentrain instead of these already known solutions I thought it will be just another tool that offers exactly same functionality My experience with Contentrain was really really good It was so great that I decided to write an article about it Contentrain DashboardThe first step when you create a new account in Contentrain will be this nice looking dashboard with a short tutorial on what you can do with ContentrainThe first step we will do we will create a new project Projects are like a main entitites in Contentrain We will click Start new project button and choose both GitHub and Nuxt js It will allow us to connect our GitHub account that will be used to create repository and publish changes to it Second step we have selected a Nuxt js blog template GitHub will ask you for permissions Make sure to authorize Contentrain ConfigurationThe first step would be to configure GitHub and the storage When you click GitHub settings it will ask you for authorizing access to all repositories Make sure to click Install amp Authorize This will allow us to move to the second step The second step here is to define roles We will skip it for now as the current roles will suit us well The third and final step is to create content In here you can add new content in JSON format that will be then used in your application Contentrain Project DashboardAfter we have successfuly created a new project it can be accessed in our dashboard From here you can easily modify content to meet your needs best CodeContentrain generated a new repository for us with a Nuxt Blog template We can then deploy this blog template to our favourite hosting provider In my case it will be Vercel As a result we will have the following application hosted on the Vercel cloud Changing contentIt is not only about displaying content We can also modify it in Contentrain Lets modify the value of the Hero component After this change what will happen is it will automatically push a new value to our code repository updated JSON file Thanks to the fact that I have connected my repository to Vercel all pushed code to the master branch will automatically trigger a redeploy We can observe the new content in our deployed application SummaryWell done You have just created a simple Nuxt Blog with Contentrain Thanks to the hosting on Vercel changes can be applied to the production website in a blink of an eye Keep in mind that this is just the beginning of what Contentrain has to offer Make sure to take it for a spin and start building	2022-06-13 06:00:52
