Why is it time to move on to ReactJS Vanilla js is known as plain old Javascript and it s basically the javascript written without using any libraries React is a JS library used for building UI It allows us to make complex UIs using components What you actually get in ReactJS CODE Isolation in React In Vanilla JS if we want to update some piece of HTML That piece of code may reside in multiple JS files So it becomes hard for the developer to track all these files and they have to keep all the files open at once In React we split our code into components and each component maintains all the code needed for both display and updates to UI Therefore updated code is next to display code which makes complex apps much easier to understand We get better Data Handling in ReactIn Vanilla JS our data is stored in a model called DOM Document Object Model which is created and maintained by the browser If a user gives input in a form the developer needs to extract that data by finding it in the DOM first and then extracting its value Which becomes a very tedious job But In React we have a concept called “controlled components which sets the text value in a JS Object as the user types it In general React stores data in regular JS variables Ex const input setInput useState “ Hooks in ReactIn React we have a concept called Hooks which provides benefits like Reusability Readability and Testability You get some built in hooks like useState useEffect useReducer useRef etc which helps in rapid development Improves Readability For example “useContext hook has been a blessing for improving the readability of JSX as it allows context values to be read outside of JSX Aside from code it s easier to read the component tree in react dev tools when debugging Using React in Web AppsUsing React JS in creating web applications is a cherry on cake Data gets dynamically updated in web pages without requiring them to be reloaded at each time When the user clicks on a button in the page data can be presented to the user without reloading the page every time This gives the user a good interaction with the web site ConclusionVanilla JS is awesome but it s not a great alternative when it comes to building huge applications with complex functionalities Also you can t create complex UIs it will take too much of time On the other hand React allows us to create reusable components So React is Better to learn amp use in every aspect of rapid Development Thanks to my friend Chandan Pandey for helping me out with the content Kudos |

New York regulators slap Robinhood x s crypto business with million fineIn the latest in what seems to be a string of challenges the company has to grapple with Robinhood s crypto division has been slapped with a million fine by the New York State Department of Financial Services It s the first crypto focused enforcement action by the regulator which has issued the multimillion dollar penalty against Robinhood for what it says are violations against the state s anti money laundering and cybersecurity regulations In its announcement the Financial Services Department said it found significant deficiencies in the company s compliance programs following a supervisory examination Apparently there weren t enough people working in Robinhood s money laundering compliance program The company also failed to transition from a manual monitoring system which is no longer sufficient now that it s much larger than when it started In addition the department found that policies within Robinhood s cybersecurity program aren t in full compliance with official cybersecurity and virtual currency regulations nbsp The New York regulator also mentioned that Robinhood improperly certified compliance with the Department s Transaction Monitoring Regulation and Cybersecurity Regulation Since it wasn t fully compliant with the state s cybersecurity rules Robinhood violated the law by claiming compliance Finally the regulator said Robinhood failed to adhere to consumer protection requirements by not maintaining a separate phone number and displaying it on its website specifically for consumer complaints nbsp Superintendent of Financial Services Adrienne A Harris said in a statement quot As its business grew Robinhood Crypto failed to invest the proper resources and attention to develop and maintain a culture of complianceーa failure that resulted in significant violations of the Department s anti money laundering and cybersecurity regulations All virtual currency companies licensed in New York State are subject to the same anti money laundering consumer protection and cybersecurity regulations as traditional financial services companies DFS will continue to investigate and take action when any licensee violates the law or the Department s regulations which are critical to protecting consumers and ensuring the safety and soundness of the institutions quot Aside from having to pay million Robinhood must retain an independent consultant who will evaluate if it has taken the appropriate actions to address its violations and deficiencies under the settlement Robinhood also recently announced that it s laying off percent of its workforce due to record inflation and the cryptocurrency crash It s the company s second round of job cuts this year and will affect employees across divisions That revelation came after Robinhood published its earnings for the second quarter of wherein it posted a net loss of million and announced a decrease of million in monthly active users nbsp |
