海外TECH	DEV Community	Why I started to work at Novu - Things that you don't want to hear 😡	https://dev.to/nevodavid/why-i-started-to-work-at-novu-things-that-you-dont-want-to-hear-jdn	Why I started to work at Novu Things that you don x t want to hear Last time I discussed my journey at Linvo and becoming open source Today I want to explain why I chose to work for Novu Being a senior developer and a team leader in the past I am getting a lot of job offers and I can basically pick almost everything I want In my previous startups I wrote a lot of code I mean come on I am a single developer working on Linvo A backend frontend and a bot are running in the background It s a constant development of over two years alone I didn t work for any company and worked only for my startup I had some savings and I looked for a cheap country place to live so I won t waste too much on food so I chose Georgia Batumi I was renting this for After around six months of writing code I had a problem The product was good at least I thought but nobody was using it I was definitely going for the build it and they will come At that point in time I thought about closing everything but instead I did something that I never thought I would do MARKETING When I started for me marketing was ads and sleazy people But after doing like millions of tutorials on human psychology I have begun to fall in love with it I took a break of around three months from writing code except for bugs and I got about ten subscriptions I was kind of amazed to see that nothing had changed but the product started to make money At that moment as a founder I understood the power of marketing I have realized that you can give me develop almost everything from A B and there is a big chance I can do it but it doesn t mean people will use it I love this phrase from one book that I read You have never heard of a startup failing because they didn t have a product But I do love coding I can sit for hours without standing writing code I had to find a bridge between the worlds When I met Tomer and Dima the founders of Novu They loved talking about code but they understood the power of marketing and knew that the two things must go together in parallel Furthermore Novu is an open source product which means everything revolves around code and architecture My kind of thing Instead of doing the same thing as everybody else did they told me to come and help us boost Novu to the sky as Novu s growth manager And I am so happy I did Running things like HackSquad and Novu s community heroes is just pure fun and I enjoy every day of it If this post passes the likes I will make another post on what I am doing day to day at Novu I just love this community Thank you for reading it P S I love writing stuff on Twitter so please come a follow me and I will follow you back	2022-10-13 18:48:11

e sempre quis ter um espaço para outros leitores me encontrarem mas nunca imaginei como poder materializar isso Com anos no hype do blogger resolvi criar o meu primeiro site E ali esbarrei com um tal de HTML e foi uma enorme novidade e ao mesmo tempo me senti instigada em obter aquele conhecimento pra dar o meu melhor na minha paixão que eram os textos Infelizmente naquela época não existia Youtube bati muita cabeça meus amigues rs então eu comprava aquelas revistinhas de banca de jornal que vinham com CD que ensinavam HTML Por fim criei meu primeiro espaço nesse mundo digital e foi surpreendente em todas as esferas isso pra mim e me dedicava demais em manter um espaço e experiência incrível pra quem visitasse o meu endereço Mas o que aconteceu foi realmente engraçado as pessoas estavam cagando para o que eu escrevia elas estavam interessadas sim em como eu montei um layout legal como mudei o cursor de que forma botei um pluggin de rádio enfim nada a ver com meu real trabalho de ser uma escritora principiante Foi dai que deu um click e eu realmente vi que tinha talento para fazer sites a partir disso comecei ainda mais estudar HTML CSS JavaScript Em sequência fiz Ensino Médio Técnico em Informática porém foquei muito mais em Hardware montagem e manutenção Aprendi um pouco de Back end também C C Cobol e fiz alguns estágios na área Contudo assim que passei por essa fase quando me lancei ao mercado de trabalho encontrei um hiato profundo de vagas para mulheres aliás eu era uma menina de anos em busca apenas de trabalhar com aquilo que amava e não encontrou Fiquei bastante desiludida com a área fiz mais de entrevistas e nunca me ligaram E como não tinha nascido rica e nem herdeira infelizmente precisava trabalhar o quanto antes Foi ai que peguei meu ponto alto de ser uma pessoa extremamente comunicativa e fui para área de vendas Era o que eu amava com certeza que não mas né pagando bem que mal tem Trilhei um longo percurso que foi de vendedora sub gerente gerente de vendas e a partir disso fui nichando ainda mais minha área de atuação Me inseri na área de Customer Experience e Customer Success e a partir disso fui àGerente de Projetos e Pessoas Foi uma caminhada de anos e de anos para cá fui flertando novamente com a área de Desenvolvimento com os projetos que ia tocando E daíconheci a atuação de Product Owner e me gerou um enorme fascínio Me formei em Desenvolvimento de Produto em e foi o ponta péinicial pra eu imergir de vez na tecnologia Fui estudando mais profundamente o Front end novas libs frameworks e matando esse gap que fiquei sem pegar na unha o código Vale ressaltar que sempre fui uma entusiasta da área de programação e nunca deixei de acompanhar toda a sua evolução ao longo dos anos O ponto principal foi um feedback que recebi em julho de de uma pessoa referência em carreira na qual ela me disse essas palavras Larissa vocêpode ser muito boa no que vocêfaz mas sua expertise e sua bagagem profissional podem com certeza te dar uma carreira com ascensão na área de Desenvolvimento aproveita que o mercado estásuper aquecido e mergulha nessa oportunidade de cabeça Como dizia minha avó Se vocêviu uma oportunidade passar na sua frente agarra ela E foi exatamente isso que eu fiz em ano dessa decisão atéhoje o que mais tenho feito éestudar colocar em prática fazer freelas Network e principalmente buscando a minha tão sonhada vaga como Desenvolvedora E aqui quero deixar dicas que foram primordiais para que eu fizesse essa transição Mantenha o seu LinkedIn super ativo e atualizado Essa ferramenta foi e éfundamental em toda essa trajetória através dela conheci pessoas incríveis vivi experiências jamais imaginadas pude participar de cursos e palestras gratuitos enfim uma infinidade de coisas realmente importantes que surgiram de lá Fixe um plano de metas e prazos pro seu passo a passo nessa transição Isso foi fundamental pra eu tomar os steps de forma segura e principalmente tendo em vista que não poderia ficar sem renda nenhum mês porque éaquilo némeus amigues transição não éfácil então se planeje de forma inteligente e realista Busque conhecimento de forma organizada Quando estamos empolgados e entusiasmados acabamos querendo fazer tudo ao mesmo tempo contudo essa forma vai fazer vocêdesistir rápido dessa transição com a dificuldade enorme que vocêvai ter em assimilar os conteúdos Comece estudando inicialmente Lógica de Programação e aía partir disso vocêpode ir migrando para linguagens e toda o universo dentro disso Tenha em mente que pode ser rápido ou demorar não existe formula mágica Minha transição durou ano não significa que a sua durará ano também pode ser menos ou mais isso dependeráda sua evolução dedicação e principalmente aplicação técnica do seu conhecimento Ter essa consciência plena faz com que vocênão se frustre quando ver os meses passando Faça network converse com pessoas da área para ver se realmente éisso que vocêquer fazer e mudar completamente de área Ás vezes no nosso mundo ideal montamos um esquema de pensamentos de como étal coisa Porém a realidade pode ser muito diferente daquilo que vocêimaginou e isso pode ser uma enorme decepção
