海外TECH DEV Community LibreGrid : The Only React Component You'll Ever Need https://dev.to/raddevus/libregrid-the-only-react-component-youll-ever-need-44o3 LibreGrid The Only React Component You x ll Ever Need IntroductionWhen I set out to build this component months ago I didn t know it would take so long so I hope you find it as interesting and helpful as I have The LibreGrid component which I ve built on top of React allows you to View Sort Search Edit and generate JSON from your custom Domain Object s FOSS Fully Open Source Software Available At GitHubGet all the source at my github One Requirement For UseYou must have a collection of your Domain Objects Your domain objects must be contained in an array This is very common format that is used by of WebAPIs anyways so this shouldn t cause you any problem This just means that your JSON will be in the format of represents outer array each represents each domain object fake prop fake value fake prop fake value Believe it or not using just that simple data I can show you how easy it is to load the LibreGrid with your custom data It may not seem amazing yet but when we load the results from a custom WebAPI I believe you ll be amazed I hope so Let Me Show You How Easy It Is To Use LibreGridNow for the fast crowd let me show you how easily you can use my LibreGrid component Then after I show you it in action we ll come back here and learn a bit more about how it works Ugly User InterfaceI actually made the UI quite ugly for now for two reasons I don t want the reader to focus on what it all looks like right nowIt s extremely easy to add a layer of CSS which will make your implementation of the LibreGrid component beautiful Parent amp Child React ComponentThe image that follows shows the UI with two main headers one black one amp one green one Those headers each define the area of a separate React componentDataLoader The parent React component which I built for this article so you can see the LibreGrid in action The DataLoader s content ends with the Load Data button DataLoader is made up of a number of HTML Input controls all text boxes except the one checkbox and the one Load Data button LibreGrid Everything within the Green border is the LibreGrid the target component we are discussing I ve added the LibreGrid as a child component to the example so we can pass in data from the parent DataLoader This is where your Domain Model data will be displayed for sorting searching editing amp generating altered JSON DataLoader Component Which Uses LibreGridAgain I ve created the DataLoader entirely so I can show you how easy it is to load data into the LibreGrid amp use it in your own projects and your own domain objects First of all you can see that when the app runs it initially loads some sa mple data based on Flintstones cartoon characters We can just ignore that for now Follow Along With Running the Code At My Web SiteTry the Live Version shown in this article at my web site YouTube Video Loading Data From SWAPILater in the article I show you how to load data from the Star Wars API but you can watch the YouTube video right now to see the LibreGrid in action Focus On Three HTML Text Input BoxesTo begin we will just use three of the HTML text input fields to load our data Data text input where we ll paste our JSON which represents our array of domain objectsFields text input where we ll type an array of strings which represent the field names which are found in the domain objectsColumn Headers text input where we ll type an array of strings which will represent the header text which will appear above each column in our LibreGrid What s The Big Deal At first when you see this you may think it s no big deal I understand At first it doesn t look like much but you get a lot of features and I ll show you those features in just a moment First just allow me to point out a few things you may find odd A Few Important Things to NoticeID Column If the data doesn t have an ID column just an integer column which is auto incremented then I add one If the data does have the value we can handle that too Sort The data is initially sorted on the ID column in ascending fashion However all you have to do to sort the data is click on the column header Allow Data Reset You ll see more about this in a moment but it is just a way to allow the child LibreGrid component to only reload data if the user wants it to so we don t wipe out changes they ve made to the data Headers Headers are just an array of strings If you add no headers you won t get any text over the columns and you won t have a way to click to sort the data You can also use the exact same array of strings you used for the Field Names but you don t have to Fields have to match the domain object s property names but headers are just text which is displayed Way More Functionality For FreeBut the real power of the LibreGrid the main component that we re actually discussing in this article shows up when we try some of its functionality List of All Functionality see associated snapshots Sort the data click either of the headers and the data is sortedEdit the data You can edit any of the data except the ID field To edit double click on any cell and it will turn into a HTML text input box allowing you to type a new value Revert changes Select checkbox next to row you want to change back and click the Revert Changes button Add new row s Click the add new row button and edit the data in each columnSearch Filter the Data Click Show Search button and type in the search field only matching data is displayed in gridGenerate JSON includes changes you made Click the Get JSON button Sort the data Clicked on header twice sorted descending Edit the data If you click on a column that hasn t had its EditableIndex set then you will not be able to edit the data in that column This makes the LibreGrid ultimately custom In order to edit the data you have to first add it s index value to the HTML Text input shown in the image In our case we set it to The ID columns are never editable bec that doesn t really make sense but you can change that in the source code of the LibreGrid if you like Once the user hits the button when she is done editing the value then the data will show that it has been changed Revert Changes Select the checkbox next to the row you want to change and click the Revert Changes button Not much to see here the data is back to original values Add New Rows of data Click the button the new rows are added with new unique ID values The data is editable as long as you add the editableIndexes Search Filter the Data This is super helpful if you have a lot of data we ll see a lot of data soon Click the Show Search button and the text input field s will appear above each column Type in the value you want to search for filter data down to I added some data so the example will be a bit more clear Type an id value in the input box in our example I type a Search On Other ColumnsNotice that you can only search on the ID column We can change that in the DataLoader so that the fake column can also be searched on We just need to change the searchableIndexes value This is yet another customization on our LibreGrid Displaying all data in the column which has the letter o Generate JSON For Your Altered DataIf you were to leave the filter on filtered for letter o and you clicked the Get JSON button right now you would see the following a popup window which displays the JSON for the displayed collection of domain objects as JSON If you right click to close the window and then click the Hide Search button the original collection of unfiltered objects will appear Now if you simply click the Get JSON button again you ll see the JSON that includes all your domain objects unfiltered It s Kind of a Big Deal ToolOf course if you simply load a collection of domain objects and edit a column then that data is reflected in the generated JSON which means that with this Open Source tool that I ve created you have a way to load edit and generate JSON With all of that in mind let s go one step further now and load data from a WebAPI to prove this thing can work with any array of data objects We will also prove that it is possible to fetch data from a rd Party WebAPI Let s Load Some Data From a WebAPI Star Wars APITo prove that this works with basically any array of domain objects I m now going to show you how to load data from a rd Party WebAPI called the SWAPI Star Wars API Take A Look At SWAPI For Star Wars PeopleFirst take a look at what the data that is returned from the SWAPI for the list of Star Wars People characters Click the following link to see the data You will see a page that looks like this my markup explains the details You can see that there is an Array of Domain Objects which contain properties This is perfect for our purposes with the LibreGrid This domain contains some objects that the SWAPI devs have named People Loading SWAPI Data In LibreGridTo load this data in the LibreGrid we need the following URL to WebAPI Name of the data set that is returned the array of objects In this case it is named results This is very important because we have to tell the DataLoader where the target array of objects is in the data we are retrieving Sometimes the webapi directly returns an array of objects but not always In the case of SWAPI there is a bunch of other data returned also which is like meta data data describing the data List of Fields that we want to display in the LibreGrid these are the domain object properties and they must be named exactly the same or the code will not be able to find them Header Text that we want to display That s it Let s do it First take a look at the new HTML Input fields we are going to use when loading from a WebAPI Here s how we set it up and the results which will occur when you press the Load Data button I m including the data so you can just copy paste it into the live example at my web site or if you built the code locally URL id name height mass hair color eye color birth year fieldsresults data name id name height mass hair color eye color birth year headers All The Functionality WorksGo ahead and add your editableIndexes searchableIndexes etc and you ll see that all the functionality is there It took me a lot of work to get to this generic thing but it works quite well Bugs Yes you ll surely find some bugs but it works quite well and most of the bugs you find will probably be enhancement type of things One More Interesting Piece of Functionality numericSortIndexesYou may have noticed that there is one more piece of functionality we haven t looked at It is this idea of numeric sort index This just means that some columns you will want to search based upon numeric values Now that we have some good data this will be easier to explain The two fields height amp mass are numeric type of data but if you add a sortIndex for them they will currently be sorted alphabetically Here I ll show what I mean If you attempt to sort the data in the height field it is sorted alphabetically not numerically and as you can see and even comes before and that is incorrect All we need to do is add a numericSortIndex for this field and the mass field and then they ll sort properly I actually add numericSortIndex for the ID height and mass columns Now you can see that the sort is correct on the height column ascending That s all the functionality There s lots more to talk about but I m going to post this article and see what you think I ll post a second article very soon that displays how all of the data is passed into the constructor for the LibreGrid so you can know how to use it It ll look like the following Take a look in the source code and see what you think lt LibreGrid headers JSON parse this state headers data this state extra fields this state fields numericSortIndexes JSON parse this state numSortIndexes editableIndexes JSON parse this state editableIndexes searchableIndexes JSON parse this state searchableIndexes useLocalData this state useLocalData gt 2022-12-12 15:44:49

海外TECH Engadget What we bought: The NuPhy Air75 is the low-profile, Mac-friendly mechanical keyboard I’ve been looking for https://www.engadget.com/nuphy-air75-keyboard-irl-153521230.html?src=rss What we bought The NuPhy Air is the low profile Mac friendly mechanical keyboard I ve been looking forFor as long as I can remember my primary keyboard has been the standard wireless model from Apple I even upgraded to the Magic keyboard when it was introduced in After all I thought it works with my MacBook Pro I type relatively well on it and that s what I need from a keyboard Yet I harbored a secret lust for mechanical keyboards There s a part of me that misses the tactile feel of the chunky keyboards of my youth especially as someone who spends so much time typing like I do Plus since I m working from home full time now I no longer have to worry about annoying cubicle neighbors with the sound of my typing So a few months ago I decided on a whim to look into the whole mechanical keyboard thing a little more It took me weeks of research but I finally found one that seems to fit all my needs the NuPhy Air As it turns out I fell down a rabbit hole when researching this space I ended up reading lots of reviews watching dozens of YouTube videos and diving deep into the product category I learned about different kinds of keyboards full size tenkeyless percent percent various switches linear tactile clicky keycaps and so much more To be honest I was a little intimidated by it all but after all this research I was sold That luscious sound of clicky keys finally got me to consider getting one NuPhy AirEngadgetMy research helped me set a few important criteria for the keyboard I wanted First and foremost I wanted one with a Mac specific layout I know that most keyboards will work with both Macs and PCs but not all have Mac layouts and I really just prefer the keys to match the OS that I m using Next it needs to be wireless ーI don t like cords and cables messing up my desk I also wanted the keyboard to support multiple devices so that I could easily switch it between my work and personal laptops Additionally I prefer hot swappable switches and keycaps so that I could have the freedom to swap them out if I wanted Last but not least I wanted a relatively low profile keyboard as I didn t want to use a wrist rest That s how I settled on the NuPhy Air It s Mac friendly low profile has hot swappable switches and it s wireless with the ability to connect up to four devices three via Bluetooth and one via a GHz receiver I also really like the percent size as the layout is similar to what I m already used to with the Apple keyboards Importantly I could also purchase it right away from Amazon instead of having to wait for a group order which is a common practice in the mechanical keyboard market As for the switches I chose the Gateron Brown tactile ones as I ve read reviews that suggest they re a good middle ground between the smooth linear Red switches and the clickier Blue switches I ve now been using the Air for months and I adore it I ll admit that it took me a while to get accustomed to it at first The keys have a relatively short travel distance thanks to how low profile they are and I made a lot of typos in the beginning But I soon got used to the layout and typing on it is now second nature to me I love the feel of the Brown switches too NuPhy AirEngadgetI also really like the overall build quality of the Air The aluminum frame is solid and the default PBT Polybutylene terephthalate keycaps have a great look and feel as well I like that the spacebar and Enter keys are yellow and orange respectively The keyboard has two LED light strips on either side that I find quite attractive plus they re functional you can customize them so that they light up if the keyboard is low on battery or when the caps lock is engaged In addition it s super easy to connect via Bluetooth and swapping the keyboard between my two laptops is simple as well it s just a matter of pressing the Function key and an assigned number I do have a couple of nitpicks though The NuPhy Air has a RGB lighting feature but because the keys are low profile and not translucent it s pretty hard to notice them I ended up not using it at all because it does drain the keyboard s battery Another is that due to the low profile nature of the keyboard it s difficult to find third party keycaps that will fit in the aluminum frame there just aren t that many low profile keycaps on the market One of the features of customizable mechanical keyboards like these is that you can easily swap out keycaps to whatever color and design you want but that s not so easy here I saw a YouTube video a few months ago that compared the feeling of typing on a mechanical keyboard to that of writing with a fountain pen and I have to agree Fountain pens make handwriting such a joy thanks to how fluid and smooth it feels Similarly typing on the NuPhy Air is a pleasure because of that tactile and satisfying feedback Now that I ve tried mechanical keyboards like the NuPhy Air I don t think I can ever go back to the standard Apple models 海外TECH Engadget The best soundbars for 2022 https://www.engadget.com/best-soundbars-143041791.html?src=rss The best soundbars for It s no secret that the built in speakers in most TVs are trash They don t project enough sound out to the front so you can hear well ーespecially subtle details Thankfully you don t have to splurge for a five speaker or more surround sound setup to fix the problem In most living rooms a single soundbar and maybe a subwoofer will suffice To help guide your shopping spree we ve compiled a list of everything to look for when searching for the best soundbar for you along with a list of the top picks for a range of budgets What to look for in a soundbarFeaturesWhen it comes to features the more you pay the more you re going to get Most affordable options or less will improve your television s audio but that s about it Step into the to range and you ll find things like built in voice control wireless connectivity Chromecast AirPlay and even Android TV They re all helpful when you want to avoid looking for the remote but the best audio quality is usually only in the top tier and the formats those premium devices support I m talking about things like Dolby Atmos DTS X and other high resolution audio standards These are what you ll want to look for if truly immersive sound is what you crave for your living room setup And not all Atmos soundbars are equal so you ll need to look at the finer details carefully before you break into the savings account PortsSonyThis is a big one A lot of the more affordable soundbars have limited options when it comes to connectivity They either offer an optical port or one HDMI jack and if you re lucky both Things get slightly better in the mid range section but that s not always the case The Sonos Beam for example is but only has a single HDMI port If you want to connect your set top box gaming console and more directly to your soundbar for the best possible audio you ll likely want to look for an option with at least two HDMI eARC inputs HDMI connections are essential for things like Dolby Atmos DTS X and other high res and immersive audio formats And with the HDMI spec soundbars can support HDR K and K passthrough to make these speakers an even better companion for a game console ChannelsAnother big thing you ll want to pay attention to is channels That s the or other decimal number that companies include in product descriptions The first figure corresponds to the number of channels A two would just be left and right while a more robust Atmos system especially one with rear satellite speakers could be five or seven left right center and upward The second number refers to the subwoofer so if your soundbar comes with one or has them built in you ll see a one here The third numeral is up firing speakers important for the immersive effect of Dolby Atmos Not all Atmos enabled units have them but if they do the third number will tell you how many are in play WirelessSonyMost soundbars these days offer either Bluetooth WiFi or both When it comes to WiFi that connectivity affords you luxuries like voice control either built in or with a separate device Chromecast Spotify Connect and AirPlay Depending on your preferences you might be able to live without some of these For me AirPlay and Chromecast are essentials but the rest I can live without Those two give me the ability to beam music and podcasts from my go to apps without having to settle for ーor struggle with ーa Bluetooth connection SizeThis one might seem obvious but humor me for a minute Nothing is more soul crushing than getting a pricey soundbar in your living room only to discover you have to rearrange everything to find a spot for it This was my plight when the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar arrived at my door Yes that speaker is absurdly large and heavy and most soundbars aren t nearly as big I learned a valuable lesson Make sure the space where you want to put a soundbar will accommodate the thing you re about to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on Basically it all comes down to the TV you have or are planning to get and what the primary goal is for your living room audio Is it ease of use Do you want the best possible sound from a single speaker or speaker sub combo Do you just want to be able to actually hear your TV better Or do you want to turn your living room into an immersive home theater By paying attention to each of those areas you should have a good idea of what to look for in a soundbar soundbar sub combo or a more robust setup With that said we ve put numerous products through their paces at Engadget and have a few favorites at various price points to get you started Best premium soundbar Sony HT ASony has a long track record of excellent high end soundbars and its latest is another great sounding product The A is a robust Dolby Atmos device capable of immersive audio thanks to Sony s Sound Mapping Sound Field Optimization vertical surround technology and S Force Pro front surround There s a lot of tech at work here and I haven t even mentioned Reality Audio or DSEE Extreme upscaling both handy when it comes to listening to music Speaking of audio you ll have the option of using Chromecast Spotify Connect or AirPlay to send your tunes to the A Two HDMI eARC inputs mean you can hook up multiple streaming boxes or gaming consoles And thanks to HDMI support you can expect K and K passthrough to your television so the A is a great option for gamers This soundbar is expensive at and it doesn t come with a separate subwoofer though it does have one built in However Sony does give you multiple options for both a sub and rear satellite speakers The SA SW sub is while the SA SW is For rear speakers the SA RSS is while the truly wireless and much better looking SA RS set is If you re looking to save some money on the soundbar itself Sony offers the HT A for although we ve seen it on sale for recently It packs nearly all of the same bells and whistles as the A only in a channel configuration Runner up premium soundbar Sonos ArcThe top end of Sonos home theater lineup was well overdue for a refresh by the time the company introduced the Arc in This unit replaced the Playbar that debuted in offering directional sound via Dolby Atmos as the main upgrade The Arc sports a more modern design stellar sound and all of Sonos smarts including the ability to automatically calibrate to your living room and when you add more speakers The price doesn t include a sub but the Playbar didn t come with one either And sadly Sonos doesn t include a second HDMI jack for directly connecting devices other than your TV As is typically the case with the company s wares expansion gets expensive quickly as the wireless sub is and satellite One speakers are each However the combination of the Arc and a sub will get you pretty far sound wise even if they are separate purchases Plus the smaller and more affordable Sub Mini works well with the company s most premium soundbar and it clocks in at Another premium option Bowers amp Wilkins Panorama Bowers amp Wilkins introduced its first Dolby Atmos soundbar back in March filling a void in the company s existing home theater lineup The Panorama has a channel configuration but it packs total speakers including two subwoofers and watts of sonic power For that reason the company doesn t think you ll need a dedicated sub Indeed the Panorama does offer ample bass but it s not nearly on the level as a standalone unit This soundbar does have a low profile refined design alongside voice capabilities “hidden until lit touch controls and support for aptX Adaptive AirPlay and Spotify Connect Most importantly it s currently available for less than the original MSRP at Best midrange soundbar Sonos BeamSolid sound quality Check Dolby Atmos Yep Compact and easy to set up Uh huh Compatible with other Sonos products for a more robust system You betcha The first gen Sonos Beam has been one of our favorites since it arrived in but there was one thing it didn t have Dolby Atmos That was the big addition to the model though it s a bit limited since the Beam doesn t have any upward firing speakers Sonos manages to make things seem more directional by tweaking audio timing and frequency instead of adding more drivers The new Beam still only has the one HDMI port which means you won t be connecting a gaming console or set top box directly to this It also means that if you have an older TV with an optical jack you ll need an adapter Runner up midrange soundbar Samsung HW QBSamsung s mid range QB will cost you but it comes with a bundled subwoofer This model also supports wireless Dolby Atmos connectivity with Samsung smart TVs over WiFi and the channel configuration includes up firing speakers for proper immersive sound The QB supports Q Symphony which allows you to use both the soundbar and your TV speakers for a more robust setup on some and Samsung TVs SpaceFit Sound automatically calibrates the soundbar sub combo to a room Adaptive Sound optimizes audio for specific content types and Tap Sound allows you to send tunes from a Samsung phone to the QB with a simple tap HDMI eARC connectivity is here as well and so is voice control AirPlay Chromecast and a gaming specific audio mode Another midrange option Sonos RaySonos latest soundbar may be its most affordable to date but at it s not exactly a budget pick Especially when you consider there are cheaper options that come with a subwoofer Still the compact design doesn t command a lot of space in front of your TV making it a great option for smaller living spaces The Ray is easy to set up and provides great sound quality for both TV and music There are some trade offs when it comes to the immersive nature of the audio but it s a good option for upgrading your TV sound with minimal fuss Best budget soundbar Vizio Vt JIf you re looking for a way to improve your TV sound on a budget Vizio has some solid options With the Vt J you get a channel setup in a compact soundbar and inch wireless sub combo for This would be a great choice if you don t want your add on TV speaker to take up a lot of space There s no WiFi connectivity but that s really the only sacrifice when it comes to the basics HDMI ARC eARC and optical connections link to your television while a mm aux jack and Bluetooth allow you to play music from your phone or another device DTS Virtual X compatibility offers some of the effect of surround sound without a bigger unit or additional speakers 2022-12-12 15:01:06
