海外TECH	DEV Community	How To Test CRUD RESTful APIs With the API Tester Mobile App	https://dev.to/mariamarsh/how-to-test-crud-restful-apis-with-the-api-tester-mobile-app-eco	How To Test CRUD RESTful APIs With the API Tester Mobile AppBackend developers can test APIs and validate API responses through one of the many popular tools available such as Postman Apigee SoapUI and Swagger However none of these as well as many others have attempted to revolutionize API testing through an easy to use mobile application that provides everything a backend developer needs to test and validate APIs and publish and share APIs docs Let s now see how to test RESTful APIs with an API Tester Mobile App and what such an app can offer to you What is API Tester The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about API testing is that it is generally performed through a desktop or Web based application This makes it impossible to experiment with new ways of testing APIs in a mobile friendly way Luckily there is an API Tester API Tester is an innovative mobile API testing application packed with many features for testing REST SOAP XML JSON RPC HTTP HTTPS WebSocket and GraphQL APIs Using API Tester to Test CRUD RESTful APIsLet s now explore the functionality offered by the API Tester app by testing some CRUD APIs developed in Express Node js and using Sequelize as the ORM First you have to download API Tester and install it You can download API Tester here API Tester on the App Store API Tester on the Google Play Store Many applications require a very cumbersome initial setup This is not the case with API Tester As soon as the app is installed you will find all the features and options ready to be explored directly on the home screen This makes the app interface really user friendly and easy to use API Tester provides access to the “Create New Request function This function allows you to set up any API request The application supports a full range of HTTP requests including GET POST PUT DELETE VIEW PATCH OPTIONS HEAD COPY PURGE LINK UNLINK PROPFIND LOCK UNLOCK and others Along with support for creating a new API request via the application you can also try the “Import API collection option This allows you to import a collection of APIs from cURL OpenAPI Swagger Postman etc Such a feature makes the set up incredibly fast In my case I imported all the GET VIEW POST PUT and DELETE requests I wanted to test directly from the ApiTester TestCollection json file I exported from one of my Postman projects as shown below The API collection was successfully imported in no time and API requests were displayed on the home screen with appropriate labels to specify the type of API request along with the API name and URL Selecting one of the API requests opens the details screen that allows you to update the URL change query parameters update API request details in the body add or update values in the headers enter authorization details and an option to enable cookie settings The settings of an API request also allow you to enable subsequent redirects and change the timeout period of the request Once you have checked all the details of the API request you are ready to test and validate the response against the API request All you have to do is hit the “Play button in the upper right corner Having a way to quickly see the API response is critical for a backend developer in testing In API Tester simply press the “Response button at the bottom of the screen to access the “Response view Here you can explore the response obtained from the API request under test As you can see in the image below it is therefore very easy to switch back and forth between the “Request and “Response views One of the most interesting features of API Tester is the option to run all requests at once This is essential for bulk testing Thus in addition to the single API request testing system seen above API Tester also allows the user to test all API requests in the collection and check their response In other words the developers of API Tester have given the user full support for running all API requests simultaneously After using this feature it will be possible to view the response status for all API requests on the main screen This includes the status code response time and packet size Et voilà You just learned everything you need to know to start testing APIs with API Tester ConclusionThere are several tools for testing API requests but not many allow you to test APIs directly on your smartphone API Tester is one of them In detail API Tester is an advanced fully featured and easy to use mobile API testing application Here you learned what API Tester is what it offers and how to use it to test some CRUD APIs Thanks for reading I hope you found this article helpful Feel free to leave any questions comments or suggestions	2022-12-21 17:46:48

re running kubectl v ➜kubectl get podserror The azure auth plugin has been removed Please use the kubectl client go credential plugin instead See client go credential plugins for further detailsIt s pretty self explanatory the azure auth provider was removed after being deprecated for many months and Azure kubelogin is the future But then you visit expecting an easy to follow guide on how it works and how to switch to kubelogin but all you see is a wall of text and lots lots of commands I don t know about you but it took me a while to figure out how that works So I decided to write this post to help you get started Back to the basics What is the Azure Auth Provider You can skip this if you want but it might be good for you to understand how the authentication to AKS works I ll keep it brief and to the point When connecting to AKS for the first time you most likely executed this command az aks get credentials resource group your resource group name your aks name This command generates a few sections on your kube config file which is used by kubectl to connect to the cluster The relevant section looks like this users name clusterUser your resource group your aks name user auth provider config apiserver id client id config mode environment AzurePublicCloud tenant id name azureThis config is using the aforementioned azure auth provider which is now deprecated The logic used by the auth provider is embedded in the kubectl binary which is why you can authenticate and connect to the cluster without having to install anything else Starting from Kubernetes v December this auth provider will be removed from the kubectl binary so you ll need an alternative method to be able to authenticate to AKS If the deprecation wasn t enough reason to switch can I say that the current developer experience with azure auth provider is very poor as well During the authentication phase you re presented with a UR that gives you a Device Code which you then enter into the terminal This is how the auth provider knows that you re the one trying to connect to the cluster This process is slow because it s interactive you need to switch windows click on buttons and then copy paste some text If you don t like it either you re in luck because kubelogin is a thousand times better Downloading kubeloginThe authentication plugins are being moved out of the kubectl binary into separate binaries maintained by the Cloud providers and distributed independently This is why the first step is to download the kubelogin binary Is this specific to Azure No the GCP Auth Provider is also being replaced by the gcloud CLI To install kubelogin follow the official guide and come back here when you re done The binary should be on your PATH You can verify that kubelogin is installed correctly by running which kubelogin on macOS Linux or where kubelogin on Windows Ready to convert So here s where things get a bit more complicated and they don t really explain it very well To connect to AKS you need a token The token is generated by the Azure Active Directory AAD and is used to make API calls to the Kubernetes API Server This is what the azure auth provider does for you it generates the token for you transparently There are many many ways to generate a token in Azure and it s beyond the point of this article to cover them all but you might have heard or used some of them like Service PrincipalUser Principal PrincipalManaged Service IdentityAzure CLIAzure Workload Federated Identitykubelogin convert kubeconfig is the command we ll be using next It ll modify our kubeconfig and replace the existing azure auth provider with a different authentication method Which one It s your choice As a developer if you re connecting to AKS from your machine you re most likely to use the az Azure CLI In fact you probably already have it installed and configured because that s what the first command on this article uses The Azure CLI can be used to generate tokens using the user s identity which is great for development Permissions are managed through Azure RBAC so administrators can control what developers can do on the cluster If you choose to use Azure CLI stick with me But if prefer another option find the relevant section on official guide To convert your kubectl authentication method to Azure CLI all you need to do is run kubelogin convert kubeconfig l azurecliShouldn t take more than a second to complete If you inspect your kube config again you ll see that the azure auth provider has been replaced by kubelogin users name clusterUser your resource group your aks name user exec apiVersion client authentication ks io vbeta args get token login azurecli server id daef ff ee command kubelogin env null provideClusterInfo falseThis is using the new client go credential plugin feature The kubelogin binary is now responsible for generating the token which uses the Azure CLI behind the scenes You can now use kubectl as usual it ll connect to the same clusters it has been before but with a different authentication flow You might need to run az login once per day but at least you won t be prompted for a Device Code anymore ConclusionIt might feel a bit too magical when you re asked to simply run a CLI and things just work But what did it actually do I always try to understand what s going on behind the scenes so I troubleshoot it
