downloads corretto aws for Linux Windows and Mac platforms Developers can now test the latest OpenJDK community code and bug fixes without waiting for the next quarterly release Binaries for Corretto and the latest Feature Release Corretto are being built combining the latest stable and development code from the next release of the OpenJDK projects Early Access builds of upcoming releases will also be available prior to GA Release and fast debug builds which contain assertions on JVM state and correctness are available In addition we will be sharing early builds of experimental projects in binary form for evaluation validation and testing For example right now we have the Generational Shenandoah and Lilliput projects back ported to Corretto The Generational Shenandoah Garbage Collector adds generational collection capabilities and aims to eventually reduce GC pauses below ms for large heap high throughput applications The Lilliput project reduces the size of Java Object headers from bytes down to bytes with a future goal of bytes which will reduce memory pressure and can result in fewer shorter GC pauses Along with the Corretto binaries corresponding functional and integration test results are available so that anyone can see what fixes and issues are still present in the build Nightly Builds are for evaluation only and should not be relied on for production use AWS CDKAlex Pulver shared this post and looks at a new app level bootstrap experimental feature for your AWS CDK stacks You can read more in the docs about app staging synthesizer alpha moduleAWS AmplifyAWS Amplify announced the UI Builder Figma plugin last week empowering design and development teams to seamlessly collaborate within a Figma file Use this plugin with the Amplify UI kit to easily theme your components upgrade to new UI kit versions and generate and preview React code from your designs directly in Figma GrafanaAmazon Managed Grafana now supports Trace Analytics with the OpenSearch Grafana data source plugin in addition to the existing support for Log Analytics Amazon Managed Grafana is a fully managed service for Grafana a popular open source analytics platform that enables you to query visualise and alert on your metrics logs and traces OpenSearch is an open source search and analytics engine for use cases such as log analytics observability real time application monitoring and clickstream analysis that is also offered as a fully managed Amazon OpenSearch Service With this release you can analyse your logs and trace data stored in OpenSearch alongside metrics from your other data sources in a single view in Amazon Managed Grafana thus simplifying the correlation and analysis of these data points The newly added trace views show the timeline of traces and allow you to drill down into spans helping you to isolate the source of performance problems and diagnose their root cause directly from your Amazon Managed Grafana workspace Amazon EMR on EKSA couple of quick updates this week First up was news that Volcano and Apache Yunikorn have been added as job schedulers when running EMR on EKS using Spark operator and spark submit Amazon EMR on EKS enables customers to run open source big data frameworks such as Apache Spark on Amazon EKS Using a custom job scheduler for Spark jobs enables fine grained capacity management and faster pod provisioning at scale The default Kubernetes scheduler handles the placement of individual pods while maintaining constraints such as available capacity resource requests and limits and node affinity However it does not support scheduling based on jobs With this new feature customers have the option to use Apache Yunikorn and Volcano to schedule EMR on EKS Spark jobs with Spark operator and spark submit Customers can leverage features like gang scheduling queue management preemption fair share scheduling in these schedulers which helps to deliver high scheduling throughput and optimised capacity We also announced the ability to control container log rotation when running Apache Spark jobs in EMR on EKS Amazon EMR on EKS enables customers to run open source big data frameworks such as Apache Spark on Amazon EKS Customers can now enable container log rotation to avoid excessive log files impacting pod execution For long running Spark jobs like Spark streaming customers can run into low disk space issues which may cause performance degradation or job failure and might get forced to manually delete logs from Kubernetes pods With this release customers can now enable container log rotation and customise how many log files will be kept in the Spark driver executor pods including setting the maximum size of each log file MySQLAmazon Relational Database Service Amazon RDS for MySQL now supports MySQL minor versions and We recommend that you upgrade to the latest minor versions to fix known security vulnerabilities in prior versions of MySQL and to benefit from the bug fixes performance improvements and 海外TECH DEV Community Qwik introduction from Misko and Giorgio https://dev.to/this-is-learning/qwik-introduction-from-misko-and-giorgio-3dbl Qwik introduction from Misko and GiorgioOn June th I ve been in Florence to attend an amazing workshop about Qwik held by Misko Hevery the creator of Qwik and Giorgio Boa a Qwik core contributor and advocate In case Misko s name sounds familiar to you he is also the creator of Angular Such a great day I ve learned a lot about Qwik and I ve met a lot of great people I m proud of this selfie Qwik WorkshopToday I want to share with you some highlights of what I learnt during the workshop You can find here a short summary of the topics I m going to cover in the video below ResumabilityOne of the key factors of Qwik is that it s based on resumability In short components are rendered first on the server then they are paused and sent to the client When the client receives the component it receives it as plain html and css with the serialized state attached to it and nothing happens No extra javascript is downloaded This makes the page load fast Really fast When the user interacts with the components the js code is downloaded and the component is resumed on the client starting exactly from the state it had on the server Click to sourceA cool thing you can hold the Alt key and click on any element of the page to see the source code of the component that generated it directly on vscode Qwik isn t the only framework that does this but it works fine and it s worth mentioning SignalsQwik uses Signals natively The greatest advantage is that way less components need a rerender when the state changes Actually only the part that really needs to be updated is updated Child components are not rerendered if they don t need to You can use useSignal for primitive values or useStore for objects React to changesSimilarly to what you know as useEffect Qwik has useTask with the biggest difference in the dependency array which got removed useTask track cleanup gt track filter const id setTimeout gt debouncedFilter value filter value cleanup gt clearTimeout id You can keep track of the dependencies by using track and return a cleanup function if you need to Components below the foldSimilarly to Astro you can make sure some components not currently visible on the screen are not dynamic Once you get there the js code is downloaded and the magic happens This is possible with useVisibleTask Scoped StyleYou can easily scope your style to avoid conflicts with other components import CSS from index css inline useStylesScoped CSS Combine dataAgain a React analogy similar to useMemo you can use useComputed to combine data const fullName useComputed gt firstName lastName This works really well if you have data stored in signals or stores Retrieve data asynchronouslyThe useResource method will let you get async data with the power of useTask with track cleanup and some extra features such as the lt Resource gt built in component which allows you to handle the loading and error states lt Resource value reposResource onPending gt lt gt Loading lt gt onRejected error gt lt gt Error error message lt gt onResolved repos gt lt ul gt repos map repo gt lt li key repo gt lt a href github github org repo gt repo lt a gt lt li gt lt ul gt gt Routing parametersuseLocation in combination with routeLoader are your best friends if you need to read parameters from the url and do some server side computation Server only operationsSpeaking of the server if you want something to happen there and not on the client for example access the database or handle some external calls which might have private keys you can use server Contribute to QwikQwik is Open Source you can contribute in the official GitHub repo and also by creating integrations dev tools and other projects A cool one I can mention is qwik ui the official UI library for Qwik Sounds cool If some of the mentioned topics sound interesting to you that s great I will expand them and show some coding in the video I recorded Thanks for reading this article this was a short one but I hope you found it interesting I recently launched my Discord server to talk about Open Source and Web Development feel free to join Do you like my content You might consider subscribing to my YouTube channel It means a lot to me ️You can find it here Feel free to follow me to get notified when new articles are out Leonardo MontiniFollow I talk about Open Source GitHub and Web Development I also run a YouTube channel called DevLeonardo see you there 2023-06-26 09:01:02
