couldn t remember them The fifths time I had to admit that I never understood what they meant So like every good developer I asked google about it but I didn t find so many easy to understand answers After some reading I decided to share my own explanation The noreferrer attribute An analogyImagine yourself visiting a new city You checked in at a cozy hotel and even got a restaurant recommendation from the receptionist After a day of sightseeing you have a delicious dinner at that restaurant While you are paying the waiter asks you if you enjoyed the meal and how exactly you found out about their restaurant You are in a good mood and tell the waiter about the recommendation from your hotel The restaurant now has some referral information from you if they ask every customer the same question they can determine how most of their customers know about them The technical meaningThe noreferrer attribute on link tags works like asking a customer how he found out about a service or a place If you have some site analytics on your page you can see what pages people came from before they clicked on a link that led them to your site Dev to for example gives me a dashboard that lets me know how many of my readers come from google or the dev to platform itself If there is no referrer information it is assumed that the user entered the page directly In technical terms The noreferrer link type hides referrer information when the link is clicked The noopener attribute An AnalogyYou are again in a new city but this time it s for business not for pleasure That s because you are a secret agent working for the British government and are working on a very secret assignment After a long day of spy work you visit a restaurant that was recommended to you by the hotel receptionist For security reasons you don t want anybody to know where you are staying so when asked you say you just entered the restaurant because it looked nice from the outside noreferrer but unfortunately you forgot a hotel receipt in the pockets of your coat which discloses your room number An undercover spy posing as a waiter picks up your coat from the entrance area gets access to your hotel key and injects some deadly poison into the bottle of Don Pérignon in your hotel room By the time you leave the restaurant you overhear a discussion about a waiter taking a very long smoking break but you are immersed in thoughts about your assignment and write it off as nothing unusual Getting technicalEvery page you open has a browsing context to render the document and everything inside it aka the page you are looking at Besides every browsing context has an attribute called opener browsing context which can be null or another browsing context another page When you are looking at Google s Search Results the page you are viewing has a Browsing Context When you right click on any of the results to open it in a new tab a new Browsing Context is created which shows the search result for example my article Now the Browsing Context that shows my article has an attribute the opener browsing context That s basically just the page that opened the current tab in this case the google results The problem here is that the browser context can manipulate the opener browsing context dev to could modify the tab with googles search results This is called reverse tabnabbing and can enable phishing attacks If the opener browsing context is the page of your bank the target tab could redirect the browsing context to a page that looks like your bank s login page and steal your account credentials once you log in The noopener attribute sets the opener browsing context in the target tab to null therefore avoiding the possibility of tabnabbing I hope the analogy is clear While you browsing a new tab eating in the restaurant somebody in the new tab the undercover waiter accesses the previous tab the hotel and modifies it in a malicious way injects poison in your Champaign So which attributes should I use If you want to behave like a spyIf you are adding external links to your page but don t want your page to show up as a referrer in their analytics and also want to avoid reverse tabnabbing use rel noreferrer As per MDN documentation this will not leak referrer information and also set the opener browsing context to null in the new tab If you want to behave like a touristIn the case that you don t mind sending referrer information to an external page but want to avoid reverse tabnabbing which you should only add rel noopener to your link tags This will still send the referrer header tag attributeReferral HeaderReverse Tabnabbing preventionnoreferrernoopenerno tag for modern browsers Since the risk for reverse tabnabbing is something that should be avoided altogether the noopener attribute is now automatically set for all external links by modern browsers but I will still continue using it just to be sure I hope this gave you a better idea of how these 海外TECH	DEV Community	Getting Nginx to work	https://dev.to/menghif/getting-nginx-to-work-1g3l	Getting Nginx to workThis past week I finally finished the work necessary for the issue about sharing a single nginx container for all static sites I moved docusaurus and test web content into src web in separate PRs and then started working on the Nginx config and Dockerfile I originally posted a PR with an Nginx config that would put the Telescope app and the Docusaurus app in two different ports but I was told in the review process to keep everything on port and simply have Docusaurus at docs which makes a lot more sense I was stuck for a while on getting the Docusaurus app to show on localhost docs as I kept getting a Error message Eventually with help from Josue I managed to make the configuration work DockefileThe Dockerfile is divided into different layers It starts with node as base and then goes through separate layers to install dependencies and build the apps Each layer is specific to either the Telescope app or the Docusaurus app so that if there s a change in one not everything needs to be rebuilt from scratch The final layer uses the Nginx Alpine image Alpine images are famous for being much smaller in size and inside we copy the builds from previous layers like this FROM nginx alpine as deployWORKDIR COPY from build app app out var www dataCOPY from build docs docs build usr share nginx html docs Nginx configFor Nginx I had to add following to the config template location docs root usr share nginx html and change the baseUrl in docusaurus config js to docs It definitely took longer than I expected to get all of this working since I am still new to Docker but it was very rewarding to see it work Hopefully this PR can be merged soon Finally since we are getting close to release the Docusaurus app to production I also took the opportunity to fix all the broken links with this PR	2022-04-04 02:29:36

scienceStatistics is the science of collecting analyzing and interpreting data It is an important tool for understanding and making decisions about the world around us Statisticians use statistical methods to help answer questions such as How many people are affected by a particular disease Are certain groups of people more likely to develop certain diseases What are the chances of a particular event occurring Statistics plays a vital role in data science by providing a way to analyze and interpret data Data scientists use statistics to understand patterns and trends in data which can then be used to make predictions about future events Without statistics data science would not be possible Descriptive StatisticsWhen working with data it s important to be able to understand and summarize the information that you re dealing with This is where statistics come in Descriptive statistics are a set of tools that allow you to do just that They help you to organize understand and summarize data For example let s say you have a statistics homework with a dataset consisting of the ages of people You could use descriptive statistics to calculate the mean median and mode of the data This would give you a better understanding of the distribution of ages in the dataset You could also use descriptive statistics to create a histogram of the data which would visually show you how the ages are distributed As you can see descriptive statistics are a valuable tool for data Inferential StatisticsStatistics are important in data science because they allow us to make inferences about a population based on a sample In other words they help us to understand how likely it is that a result occurred by chance For example imagine that we want to know whether men or women are more likely to use Facebook We could survey a random sample of people and ask them whether they use Facebook If the proportion of men who use Facebook is higher than the proportion of women who do we might conclude that men are more likely to use Facebook However there is always a chance that this difference occurred by chance Statistics allow us to quantify this risk and as a result make more informed conclusions In this case statistics would tell us whether the difference between the proportions of men and women who use Facebook is likely to have occurred by chance or not Sampling MethodsStatistical methods are used in data science to collect analyze and make predictions from data One of the most important aspects of statistical methods is sampling Sampling is the process of selecting a representative subset of data from a larger dataset It is important to use sampling methods when studying data because it is often impractical or impossible to collect all of the data For example if you wanted to study the effects of a new drug it would be unethical to test it on every person in the world Instead you would need to use a sampling method to select a group of people to test the drug on Estimation MethodsAs a data scientist one of the most important skills you can have is the ability to effectively use and interpret statistics Statistics are a fundamental tool that allows you to make informed decisions based on data They can help you understand trends identify relationships and make predictions In addition statistics can be used to estimate quantities that are difficult to measure directly For example if you want to know the average income of people in a certain area you can use statistical methods to estimate this number from a sample of people Estimation methods are essential for data science because they allow you to make inferences about a population based on a limited amount of data Hypothesis TestingIn any scientific research process data is collected to be analyzed and conclude from However before any valid conclusions can be drawn that data must first go through a process known as hypothesis testing In hypothesis testing a researcher comes up with a theory or hypothesis and then tests how likely it is that the data they have collected supports that hypothesis If the data collected does not support the hypothesis the researcher can then either modify the hypothesis or scrap it entirely and start over Consequently statistics play a vital role in data science as they are essential for hypothesis testing Without statistics it would
